Where is Golden Lion Jewelry located?

We are a family owned and operated business out of New Jersey, USA.  We do not have a retail store but you can find us at Ukrainian festivals throughout the United States.  Almost all our jewelry is handmade in USA. Is there a broader selection of jewelry at your shows/festivals?

Yes! At the events we attend we have a much larger and more diverse selection of items, please be sure to stop by our booth at one of the many events we attend each year.

What countries do you ship to?

Other than the United States we currently ship to Canada. We are currently working on postage costs for Europe, Asia, South America and our friends in Australia! If you are from a country other than the U.S. or Canada, send us an email and we can discuss your options!

Can catalog items be customized?

Most pieces of jewelry in the online catalog which contain crystals, cubic zirconia, diamonds or colored stones are often available with other centers of variable size, shape or quality as it pertains to diamonds, cubic zirconia and any other colored gemstones where applicable. As we hand make most of our jewelry, we can also create custom pieces, so long as you can provide a design and other costs associated with the fabrication of the item. Please call the office during normal business hours (Monday through Friday – 9:00 am-5:00 pm EST) to inquire. Please note that by submitting the design you will be giving use in any and all forms of said design to Golden Lion Jewelry and the design will be kept, stored and become property of Golden Lion Jewelry.

What is a DWT? What is a gram?

DWT is the abbreviation for pennyweight which is one of the units used when weighing precious metals. It is generally used by the manufacturers in the United States. One (1) DWT is equal to 1.5 Grams (g). As an example if your piece has a weight of 2.0 DWT it weighs about 3.0 grams. Gram is another unit used to weigh precious metals. The gram is used in Canada and Europe. Weight of precious metals should never be listed as kilos or kilograms as this measure is too large in relation to precious metals, unless you are referring to large quantities and not individual items or pieces.

Why do you list DWT and Grams?

We list both DWT and grams because the majority of our inventory and pieces are purchased from our manufacturers in DWT and many of our customers are only familiar with gram weight. We list both so you can be as familiar with the piece before you purchase it.

Why do the same items differ in weight in gold and silver?

The same items have different weights in gold and silver because of the metal. Gold is a heavier and denser metal then silver.

What is a soldered bail and why is it important?

A bail is the piece on the top a pendant that the necklace goes through and holds the charm on the necklace leaving the pendant to freely move on the necklace. A soldered bail is one that will not open because it has been soldered with an extra piece of gold. It still allows the pendant to move freely, however, it adds more protection to the piece because it cannot easily open and fall off. Soldered bails, just like any bail, eventually wear and you should check your piece over time to assure that it is not too worn or thin. Bails can easily be repaired when too worn and this can decrease your chances of losing your pendant. Over 90% of our bails are soldered on for your protection!

Speaking of necklaces, do your pendants come with chains?

No, there are very few items that come with a chains.  We do this because not everyone likes a certain design and not every person require the same length. However, we do offer Sterling Silver Chains for sale and if you can always email us if you are looking for a certain design, length or metal!

I have a larger and thicker necklace. Do you offer bigger bails for bigger pieces so it will fit my necklace?

We manufacturer several bails that can fit even the larger necklaces. Contact us and we can discuss possibilities and cost with you.

It said the item is in stock when I purchased it, why did I receive an email saying it wasn’t?

Sometimes our website says an item is in stock however, we may have just returned from a show/festival and have not had the opportunity to update our site. If your item is not in stock, we will alert you as soon is possible and give you a tentative date that it will be back in stock. The item may also be in stock in a certain color. For example, if you purchased an eternity bead in red and the website said it was in stock, it was possible that only the blue bead was in stock. We currently list our products stock by the item, not the variations.

If the item is out of stock, how long does it take before I can expect it to be back in stock?

Some items that are out of stock can be back in stock in one day while other items can take up to 2 to 3 weeks. It all depends on the item and time of year. During the holiday seasons it takes longer as well as during the month of July when the office is closed for vacation.

What is the backorder policy?

Any items ordered that are on backorder will be shipped as soon as they are made available. You will be alerted via email and/or phone that your item is in and will be shipped. Your item may be on backorder if the item contains variations or different sizes.

What is the shipping policy?

Any purchase that includes a gold item falls under the gold shipping pricing. We ship to United States and Canada, shipping pricing will be available at checkout. For any other countries, please contact us for availability and a shipping quote.

What is the payment policy?

We currently accept Personal/Corporate Checks, all major credit cards as well as Paypal payments for our online store purchases. PayPal accepts every major credit card or you can pay even with your bank account. It is easy, it is quick and it is very convenient. Not only that, it’s SAFE!

What is the cancellation policy?

Any online catalog order with normal shipping can be cancelled within 48 hours of order via phone or e-mail.

What is the return policy?

Merchandise returns or exchange requests are accepted within 7 days of delivery, subject to the following conditions:

  • Within 7 days from date of delivery (date is determined by date USPS.com issues delivered notification).
  • No returns or exchanges on personalized or special ordered items.
  • All 14K Gold and Diamond Jewelry Items over $500.00 are considered a special order. Refunds are typically not allowed on these items. We may, however, be able to offer you store credit for your purchase. Please contact us for more details.
  • Shipping, handling, and insurance costs are nonrefundable if your order is shipped and either refused by the recipient or returned to us as non-deliverable or if you decide to return the item for any reason other than manufacture defect or damage.

For any items received damaged, any issues must be reported to us within three (3) days of receipt of shipment. The following procedures must be followed:

  • Please keep all of the original packing materials and boxes.
  • E-mail us at returns@goldenlionjewelry.com with detailed information regarding the issue.

Please note if the above instructions are not followed your claim may not be covered under the shipping company’s insurance policy. Before return shipping an item you must contact us for a return authorization number (see above). Merchandise must be undamaged. Please ship your return prepaid and include the proper insurance and tracking, for your protection. All Returns or exchanges must be shipped to the following address:
